This program provides graduates with the knowledge, skill and risk management elements described in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)Airman Certification Standards for both the “General” and “Powerplant” subjects. Upon successful completion of this program, students will meet regulatory requirements to take the FAA General and Powerplant written exams, as well as the FAA Powerplant oral and practical exams which lead to issuance of the Aviation Mechanic Certificate with a Powerplant Rating.
Twenty-one annually. Each course has a maximum of 25 students per FAA regulations. Assuming 20 percent of those students are unable to complete the course sequences, would leave 21 students completing annually.
This certificate and the courses that comprise it, increase the number of career paths available to students, by creating an opportunity for students to enter and advance into the high-demand, high-paying field of Aviation Maintenance.
