The goal of the Paramedic Program Certificate of Achievement is to provide a strong educational foundation so future paramedics can provide the highest quality pre-hospital emergency medical care. The Paramedic Program is designed to provide students with the education and experience to perform as competent, entry-level paramedics. The program consists of a minimum of 1,258 hours of instruction, which is divided into three distinct courses: didactic/classroom instruction (minimum of 400 hours) clinical lab (minimum of 212 hours) and field internship (minimum of 646 hours). Upon completion of the program, graduates earn a Certificate of Achievement and are eligible to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic examination (NREMT-P), which is required for paramedic licensure in the State of California
This program is part of an RJV collaboration between South Bay, Cabrillo College, Gavilan College, Hartnell College, and MPC. It is anticipated that 10-15 students will earn this certificate annually.
This program will provide the student with skills and necessary to preform the duties of a paramedic.

Students must have Current EMT Certification to be eligible for this program. The courses in this program are taken consecutively. This program is part of an RJV collaboration between South Bay, Cabrillo College, Gavilan College, Hartnell College, and MPC that is still in the development phase.
