The Patternmaking Certificate of Achievement prepares the student to create patterns for a variety of garments that meet industry standards for production. Students learn different methodologies of developing patterns from sketches or samples. Students are prepared for employment, creative fulfillment, or entrepreneurship.
5-15 completions annually
The goals for students of this program are:
- Employment in the fashion industry such as technical designers, patternmakers, and production/manufacturing staff.
- Create their own fashion business
- Transfer to a 4 year college for a Bachelors degree in fashion design
- Lifelong learning; designing and making clothing for themselves, friends, and family
