The Legal Videographer Certificate is designed to prepare students to work in the field of legal videography in a variety of settings, included, but not limited to the following: court, depositions, hearings, and other venues using the latest in videography equipment to record the proceedings. To earn a certificate, the student must complete the required courses with a grade of C or better. 50 percent of all course work must be completed at Cypress College. This certificate requires a total of 18.5 units.
4 to 8 students, possibly more with the use of Zoom in a variety of legal settings that must be recorded through the use of videography.
The program will train students to work in the field of Legal Videography which has been greatly expanded as a necessary partner in recording remote depositions and court cases and hearings. The student will be exposed to the field through the internship class to work in this exciting new area.
The program requires that the student gain a basic knowledge of court and deposition procedures, along with some business applications. The program includes an internship requirement with one-on-one shadowing experience working with a videographer in the field.
