Bakersfield College has partnered with the California Department of General Services to upskill state custodial staff into office administrative positions. A combination of coursework and on-the-job training will be offered to prepare employees to manage office settings. The coursework will include areas such as business English, math, and general administration procedures.
The program anticipates approximately five to ten completions annually.
To offer students an opportunity to pursue a career as a office technician as well as preparation for varied employment opportunities. Students will also receive an apprenticeship certification with the United States Department of Labor (DOL) and the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS).
Students must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be a California Department of General Services custodial employee. Custodial staff will be afforded the opportunity to take coursework and training to upskill into office administrative positions.

Comment: The same form has been used as the adivsory board minutes for three seperate programs. Not sure this form is applicable to this CRC approval process.
Meeting Purpose: DGS Custodian-OA JAC- how does this meeting show employer/industry support of the office technician program.
I am going to abstain from these last two votes, I as do not understand the form provided under Advisory Minutes requirement.
I am suspect when the same form is used three times.
