An entry-level programming certificate designed to teach students the fundamentals and concepts of mobile applications design and development using the Swift programming language for IOS devices. The course will include designing, coding, debugging, testing, and documenting programs using a high-level programming language. When completed, students will be able to design IOS apps that are fully functional and they will be ready to enter the workforce upon completion.

This certificate of achievement will lead students to greater academic success and career equity, increase upward mobility and economic capital, provide a living wage to support families, and will benefit communities in greater Los Angeles County, but most importantly, the city of Compton. This is a program designed to be innovative by meeting the needs of industry through preparing learners for success through the use of technology. It seeks to build local competitiveness by offering access to an in-demand industry that is continually being superseded with increased technical requirements and enhanced certification and degree requirements.
Beginning with CIS 162, every preceding course has a prerequisite requirement that must be fulfilled. To earn the Certificate of Achievement in Apple Mobile App Development a learner must successfully complete each course with a grade of "P-Pass" or "C".
