The Small Business/Entrepreneurship Certificate provides students with practical tools used in the small business environment. This certificate focuses on the critical thinking, technical, and soft skills needed to operate and work in a small business. Coursework includes explaining the various business functions as well as preparing and presenting a business plan.

The Business Department's program outcomes promote the development of small business through course work to develop critical thinking that aids in generating business ideas and growth; the technology skills needed for operation, and the communication skills needed for continued growth.

The required courses in this program are offered every year, therefore the certificate can be completed in 1-2 years. Two courses require BADM 103 as a prerequisite, so that course should be taken first.
Small Business Entrepreneurship Goals:
1 – Instruct students on the rigors of operating a small business.
2 – Prepare students to utilize technology that can help in business operations.
3 – Provide an overview of the business environment in which small business operate.
