Upon successful completion of the Automotive Performance and Data Collecting Certificate of Achievement, the student demonstrates knowledge of the skills necessary to diagnose, service, data record, evaluate, and perform repairs on cars, SUVs, and light duty trucks. The student demonstrates competence in the following areas: advanced engine rebuilding, electrical/electronic, data-logging, engine performance, and dynamometer testing. The student can pursue career opportunities in independent and specialization shops. This automotive training program is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) in association with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).Â
Yes, there are a good number of students completing our certificates and degree each year. According to the Labor Market Analysis we have a total of 18 students graduating from individual 18 to 30 units certificates and a total of 65certificates per year. Having specialized certificates will allow our students to be better prepared and more employable.
The programs’ goal is to supply certificates to the students that would like to specialize in different areas of the automotive industry. The automotive industry has grown and has expanded their employment opportunities. Some of the automotive specializations that we offer a Delta college is hybrid, smog, electrical, engine rebuilding, transmission rebuilding, alignment, brakes, and diagnostics. The new expansion of the performance of automotive industry has been trending and need technicians. The automotive technology program would like to offer additional certificates so that the students can be more employable in their field of study, which ever that may be. This gives our students more opportunities to get a job in their field of study that they have passion in.
