This program provides graduates with the knowledge, skill and risk management elements described in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)Airman Certification Standards for the “General” aviation maintenance subjects. Upon successful completion of this program, students will meet regulatory requirements to take the FAA General written exam, which is a requisite to advanced Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
Twenty-one annually. Each course has a maximum of 25 students per FAA regulations. Assuming 20 percent of those students are unable to complete the course sequences, would leave 21 students completing annually. This also aligns with only being able to offer one course at a time, especially if taught by part-time instructors.
This certificate and the courses that comprise it, increase the number of career paths available to students, by creating an opportunity for students to enter and advance into the high-demand, high-paying field of Aviation Maintenance.
