West Valley College offers students an opportunity to take all of the courses needed to obtain a Real Estate Broker License in California. The California Department of Real Estate (DRE) requires license applicants to take eight real estate classes before taking the Real Estate Broker exam, which must be passed in order to obtain a renewable real estate Broker License. A Broker License is necessary in California for a person to be able to buy or sell real estate on another's behalf and to open one's own real estate firm. Upon completion of the Certificate requirements, students will be eligible to take the Real Estate Broker exam. A student can take this exam once the student has demonstrated to the DRE that the student has completed the required coursework. Certificate holders will have a strong educational background that will help them succeed in passing the exam. Upon passage of this exam, the Certificate holder will be issued a California Real Estate Broker License.
