Completion the infant care certificate meets the State Department of Social Services requirements for Infant Care Teacher in private, for-profit and nonprofit centers as defined in Title 22.
Upon completion, Students will:

This certificate ensures the student has met the State requirements for working in Infant and toddler care positions. This certificate meets the requirements for the CA associates Permit, as well as the specialization requirements for the Master teacher level permit issued through the state.

Ca implementation of UPK (Universal Preschool) has shifted the enrollment of children ages 3-5 years from the private and community preschools, to the public elementary schools. Private and public early childhood centers must therefore focus on the infant and toddler age groups for enrollment. This required specialized coursework and skills in working with infants and toddlers, as required by CA state and Title 22.
Completers of this certificate will obtain the units and specialization skills necessary to fill these positions. This certificate ensures the student has met the State requirements for working in Infant and toddler care positions. This certificate meets the requirements for the CA associates Permit, as well as the specialization requirements for the Master teacher level permit issued through the state.
