The Refrigeration Service certificate is a first level minor certificate that will prepare students to begin a career in commercial and industrial refrigeration as a Refrigeration Technician. The skills gained in this program will give individuals the advantage in crowd of candidates applying for entry level jobs. Completion of this program will prepare the candidate to be employed as a maintenance technician and work toward becoming a journeyman, while also continuing their studies to earn the next level major certificate.
The Refrigeration Service Certificate of Achievement projects to have approximately 15 to 20 annual completers.
The Refrigeration Services Certificate of Achievement will prepare students for entry-level employment as a Refrigeration Technician and for industry certifications.
This certificate will give the individual a chance to enter into the refrigeration career early, which will help with the person not wasting time to see if this particular path in the industry, is the route they want to pursue. This will also give them employment choices that they might have not had at the time in their education. This will help increase living wage, it will help individuals to move forward in their employment, and also motivate the individual to continue in their HVAC/R path and finish the certificate, maybe also go further and continue to an AA.
