This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the automotive industry with emphasis on alternative fuel and electric vehicle drive systems and complete automotive systems diagnosis and repair. It covers the various technologies used in the alternative fuel and electric vehicles of today. Major emphasis is on electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell technology. Alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas and biodiesel are also covered. It prepares students for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications A-2 through A-8, L-3, andF-1.

Career Technical Education
The goal of the Green Vehicle Technology A.S. Degree program is to provide students with a clear pathway towards a career in alternative fuel vehicle service. This program will ensure students are ready to meet the changing demands of the automotive industry as California approaches the 2035 zero emission vehicle mandate.
To provide students with a clear pathway towards a career in green vehicle service and repair, they will complete coursework in EV, gas/electric hybrid, fuel cell, and alternative fuel vehicle theory and construction, with an emphasis on diagnosis and repair of emerging technologies.
