The Social Media Strategist Certificate of Achievement is intended to prepare students for careers in which they will use social media to promote products, individuals, and organizations. Courses emphasize the skills and tools necessary to analyze, create, implement and evaluate social media. A "C" or better is required in all courses. At completion, students will be competent and skilled in formulating goals and objectives to create and manage social media technology; to analyze social media campaigns and critically evaluate social media technology outcomes; and develop and implement evaluation methods for measuring social media success.
Program Outcomes: Students will be able to function effectively in an entry-level social media strategist or assistant position.
20 students at program launch, up to 35 in succeeding semesters.
The program prepares students for entry level employment as a social media strategist/assistant in a corporate environment, or prepares them to use social media effectively for marketing and public relations as entrepreneurs or self-employed/sole proprietors in small business.

Students can complete this program in either one semester or two, depending on their preference and scheduling of these and other classes including the required embedded internship/WBL course (Directed Practice).
