The Environmental Horticulture Certificate provides students with a foundation in plant production and pest management. Students will engage in hands on learning about soils, plants, fertilizers, and pests. Career opportunities in environmental horticulture may include greenhouse production, nursery technician, and landscape maintenance. The Environmental Horticulture Certificate requires 29 major units. Students should see a counselor to develop an education plan.

The Environmental Horticulture program offers an Associate in Sciences Degree and Certificate of Achievement in Environmental Horticulture. Coursework in Environmental Horticulture in focuses on growing, maintaining, and designing with plants and flowers. It focuses on skills and knowledge pertinent to several fields of study within the Environmental Horticulture industry.
Students earning an award in Environmental Horticulture can expect to enter careers such as nursery production, landscaping, sales, park maintenance, research, education, retail nursery and florist. The programs at Woodland Community College are designed to give students the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level positions in various horticulture industries. The A.S. degree enhances the students' opportunity to advance into higher positions such as supervisor or management.
